Public Perceptions of Bioenergy

Biomass producers and consumers, employees of the bioenergy, forestry, and transportation sectors, members and leaders of rural communities, and policymakers often hold varying – and sometimes conflicting – opinions about the use of biomass for bioenergy development.

This four-page extension and outreach publication describes role of public perceptions of bioenergy, defines the "public" including stakeholders, landowners, information sources, and sources of opposition to biofuels and bioenergy. Concludes with overview of both potential positive and potential negative arguments related to bioenergy.  Cites references and lists authors.
